By planting trees we raise a hope of survival for future generations and many other necessities for human sustainability, such as shelter, medicines, tools, and many more. As we all know the significant benefits of trees, including the oxygen release and absorption of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases like carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide purify the environment and make feasible conditions for living organisms. It also minimises the effects of global warming, preventing soil erosion and maintaining the balance in the ecology.
Tree plantation is meant to create a sustainable future and keep the hope alive for future generations. Planting trees is especially important to improve water catchment, fuel to communities, provide various flora, reduce pollution and benefit posterity. To this end, our youth should have been a key contributor to have a giant impact.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav : Plantation Drive
For celebrating ” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav “, National Highway Authority of India had organised a plantation drive in which 1.25 lakh trees were planted in 114 identified locations. The authorities of NHAI, NH PWD, individuals from Green Foundation, Alumni Association of LIT participated in the occasion to celebrate 75 years completion of independence of India.
NHAI Territorial Workplaces have distinguished 100 destinations for the plantations that are situated along the National Highways, at NHAI land parcels and Toll Plazas. Delhi government launched 15-day mega plantation drive ‘Van Mahotsav’
The Delhi government had also launched a 15-day mega plantation drive ‘ Van Mahotsav ‘, started by Environment Minister Gopal Rai on July 25 at Asola Bhatti Mines by planting more than 1 lakh plants. The government planned to plant 35 lakh saplings in the 2022 financial year.

MCD targets planting 85,000 saplings through plantation drive
